How to Identify Bad Money Making Plans

It may be obvious to many of you, but how to identify a bad money making plan is something that everybody should give a little bit of thought to. To me, anytime I see a plan that really gives me little or no information about the plan without requiring information from me, like my email address, name, address, phone number etc usually turns out to be a bad plan. It’s not like they are harbouring some top secret information or something, they are just trying to get your information for other purposes.

Think about it, if I had a really great plan, I would be more than happy to give people as much information as I could about it (without totally giving it away, since I would be selling the information of course). If I presented the information well enough, I wouldn’t have any problem at all in having all the customers I want give me their details later when purchasing the plan. The internet is just flooded with these irritating and annoying landing pages, that promise you the moon or some ‘free download’ if only you give them your information first.

Some of the most dangerous plans are those that work like a pyramid scheme, where they promise you if you become a member and only get so many more members you will be a big success. None of these plans work and my best advice to you is to instantly avoid any of them. MLM’s or Multi Level Marketing schemes are crafted cleverly so they can say they are not really a pyramid scheme, but in reality they are. They just changed the way they do it a little since  pyramid schemes themselves are illegal.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember in all this is that old saying, “if it sounds too good to be true it usually is”. I also like to look at these plans saying to myself, if I really had a plan that could make me easily $10,000 a month, why would I even want to share it with anybody else? And if I did, why would I have to charge them for it and go through all the trouble of creating elaborate pitch pages, collect information etc?

Intervestonline.com – The Top Ways to Make Money Online – They must be joking

Whenever you do a search on Google for ‘How to Make Money Online’, you will see that intervestonline.com has the top spot in a results search. Their real tag line should be more like ‘How to Make US Money Online’.  In my opinion, most of their suggestions are for sites and plans that are just utter garbage. You will note, several of the ones they promote heavily are ones that I have reviewed and found to be nothing but pure rip-offs. As usual, all that their site seems to be about is ways for them to cash in on referrals and the like by recommending these systems to people and trying to give them flowery, glowing reviews. It is no wonder to me that trying to find legitimate ways to actually make money online is nearly impossible these days. There are just so many obvious, blatant rip-off sites around that it is hard to find any of the decent ones. I am a little uncertain how to proceed with my blog here now. I could spend an eternity providing negative reviews of all the bad places, or maybe I should just change direction and provide only information on good methods and information on making money online.

LegitOnlineJobs – Not A Scam

I was a little up in the air over this one, whether or not it could or should be classified as a scam mainly because of the name and some of the slick pitch page hype referencing easily making $500 a day or more. The title seems a bit misleading to me. It would make more sense if labelled something like LegitWaysToMakeMoneyOnline rather than Legit Online Jobs. The site however does deliver a large amount of very good information on how to make money online using a host of various methods. The easy access to solid information which is well organized makes it a bargain for those looking into getting into affiliate marketing, using blogs to make money or various other methods. There is information on PPC advertising and how to bid on ads properly to make a profit on any affiliate sales they generate. They also have plenty of information on Google Adwords and Adsense, ebay, Paid surveys and various other systems that pay you to perform tasks online.  The costs for all this information are pretty low when you think about it, $49.95 for a regular membership and $19.95 more for VIP status. You could easily spend that much elsewhere just to get a few books or such on any one of the many topics they cover. As with anything else related to internet marketing though, it is not a get rich quick scenario. It will take a lot of work and effort to make enough money for it to pay off. But, once you really get into it, there is plenty of money to be made. If you are looking for some good information all in one place and want to check them out, here is a link to their page:

Multi-level Marketing (MLM)

I’m sure by now you have at least seen the term MLM (or multi-level marketing) somewhere. But, do you really know what it is, or if you can make money in such a system? Many MLM systems are dangerously close to being nothing more than pyramid schemes. In a Multi-level Marketing program, you make money not just from your sales, but also from the sales of recruits you have brought into the system under you in a pyramid type structure. Many pyramid schemes try to make their systems appear legitimate by presenting them as an MLM system.
I’m sure that there are many legitimate MLM systems around where you could make some money. But, sadly, the largest percentage of them really offer you very little hope of making any sort of substantial income at all. They will fill your head with hype with evangelical fervency and promise you the moon. Most, will also of course show you many ‘questionable’ testimonials from happy customers who thank god that they joined this system. The sad truth of the matter though, is that most of them are just a load of rubbish. My best advice to you is, if you are seriously considering joining an MLM, do some serious research up front. Do yourself a favour and find out everything you can about the company and its members. Do internet searches and see how many dissatisfied or disgruntled members there might be. Try not to pay too much attention to glowing testimonials and other pitch page type reviews which are most likely just written by members trying desperately to get more recruits in under their name.

ShareASale Affiliate Marketing Program

ShareASale is another one of the largest affiliate marketing programs. For business owners who sell online, ShareASale allows the merchant to pay commissions to affiliates who direct sales to their webstores. For the affiliate member, this means a way to make money for doing nothing more than placing an ad for the merchant on their website or blog.

You don’t need to own a website to place these ads, you can also put them on any blog you might have, and if you don’t have one, there are many places online where you can set up free blogs such as google’s blogger (http://www.blogger.com). When you join a merchant program that you want to advertise for, ShareASale gives you a line of HTML code that contains your unique affiliate id# in it. All you need to do is paste that line of code wherever you want your ad to appear.

ShareASale has thousands of merchant programs to choose from. Affiliate Marketing has been an increasing popular form of online advertising and all the biggest and best companies are using it to drive sales to their sites. Most of them pay great commissions of 8% to 25% of sales generated. For example, if somebody clicks one of your ads, then goes to the merchants site and buys $100 worth of merchandise and their commission rate is 10%, you get $10 for doing nothing but having someone click an ad displayed on your website or blog.

If you already own a web based business selling online, you might want to consider joining ShareASale as a merchant and start letting their affiliates advertise your business and drive sales to your webstore. But, this site is about people making money on the internet. I think that ShareASale is one of the best and simplest ways to make money online. If you are ready to start earning today just click their ad below and be sure to sign up as an Affiliate/Publisher it’s totally FREE and never costs you anything.

eBoot Camp: Proven Internet Marketing Techniques to Grow Your Business

In his book eBoot Camp: Proven Internet Marketing Techniques to Grow Your Business, author Corey Perlman delivers a thoughfully written and comprehensive guide to all the basics you need to know to successfully get started in internet marketing. In simple terms, using step by step instructions he shows you how to set up a successful internet marketing system and implement it. Along the way, he also provides you with a wealth of reference resource information which you can use to increase your internet marketing skills and knowledge.
I have read nothing but positive reviews by buyers of this book, all are completely satisfied with their purchase and recommend it to others. Please note, this is not a get rich quick scheme, there are no promises of incredible income. Also, this is not an eBook, this is a hardcover edition and would make a great addition to anyone’s collection. Another good thing about this book is that it gives you a lot of the same information offered in internet mass marketed eBooks which cost many times more. As for me, I would prefer to have a nice printed book over an eBook anytime.

Google Sniper

Google Sniper by George Montagu Brown is an affiliate marketing systems method sold as an eBook and also includes videos. I have spent quite a bit of time researching this one and for the most part I can say it is a good system and worth the purchase price (currently $77).
Just like so many other plans, there is a lot of hype, a lot of self promoting nonsense to read through, with thrilling stories of wild success and a seemingly guaranteed path to riches if you put in the work. But, the difference here is, that the consensus of all the people who have purchased, used or know of the system has been positive. If you are relatively new to internet marketing, the information provided to you will be of great value and well worth the relatively low purchase price. You will be able to learn a lot of new techniques and ideas that it could take you a very long time to work out on your own, and the presentation of the information is in a form that you can understand and follow step by step.
On the downside, the promotion does include some annoying ‘up selling’, where once you get to the site to purchase the product, there are offers of more products presented in a fashion such as ‘this system is great BUT if you REALLY want to make more money you need this one too..”, and after that, another one even better. You don’t really need to buy any of the extra products though to get yourself enough information to make this purchase worthwhile. If you’re interested and want to learn more, here is a link to the pitch page:

Trifilliate Payday System

Yawn, what do we have here, Trifilliate Payday, yet another sure fire system you can use to make big money online with affiliate marketing. I’m sure by now you’ve probably seen a hundred great reviews of this system, all carefully handcrafted by individuals anxious to get their commissions by getting you to buy into the system. My opinion, don’t bother.

From what I could make out from the video, the creator of Trifilliate Payday Jani G. Was just hanging out one day when he was contacted by some friend who asked him how could he make money online with new product launches, given the fact that he had no lists or google? After a very short time, this marketing guru suddenly had some sort of epiphany and the plan came to him out of the blue.
He will tell you over and over in his promo video how he had over $10,000 in sales in just 24hrs with his system. And that was just for one new product launch (google sniper), think how much you could make if you could use the system on every single new product launch. He doesn’t know about you, but he gets new product launch emails until his inbox overflows with them.
I won’t waste anymore of your time or mine with this one. Just ask yourself simple questions, isn’t $10,000 in 24hrs enough of an income for this guy? Why is he falling over himself to make all these videos and do everything under the sun he can just to sell you his system? Does he really care about helping you make money? Why? I wouldn’t bother looking any further into this one, and in my opinion, neither should you. There you have it, the first honest review of this system, no links, no prompts, no trying to get you to find out for yourself. I will only provide links and information on this blog for systems that I feel are good values for your money and will provide you will something useful.
If you have a different opinion, please put it into the comments and tell me exactly why you think I might be being unfair.

Guerrilla Marketing

The term “Guerrilla Marketing” was first coined and used by Conrad Levinson in his 1984 book of the same title. Since that time, the word has become quite popular and is used in several books on marketing. The primary concept of Guerrilla Marketing is that instead of relying on a large advertising budget for brute force advertising, the marketer should invest more heavily in time, energy and the use of imagination in marketing products. Guerrilla marketing campaigns usually target consumers in unconventional and unexpected ways and in unexpected places.
Perhaps a simple example can do more to explain the process. Let’s suppose I made a large banner ad for display on the internet, all it says on the ad is ‘How To Kill Your Pet’. Now of course such an ad would attract attention, and would also probably cause quite a bit of controversy. But wouldn’t you be interested in clicking the ad to find out more somehow? When you do, it would direct you to the actual site where your question would be answered.. ‘You could kill your pet if you’re not using any of our large selection of pet medical and health foods and supplies’. This is just a basic example of the concept, there is a lot more to it than this of course.
According to Levinson, the following principles provide the foundation of guerrilla marketing:
• Guerrilla Marketing is specifically geared for the small business and entrepreneur.
• It should be based on human psychology instead of experience, judgment, and guesswork.
• Instead of money, the primary investments of marketing should be time, energy, and imagination.
• The primary statistic to measure your business is the amount of profits, not sales.
• The marketer should also concentrate on how many new relationships are made each month.
• Create a standard of excellence with an acute focus instead of trying to diversify by offering too many diverse products and services.
• Instead of concentrating on getting new customers, aim for more referrals, more transactions with existing customers, and larger transactions.
• Forget about the competition and concentrate more on cooperating with other businesses.
• Guerrilla Marketers should always use a combination of marketing methods for a campaign.
• Use current technology as a tool to empower your business.

Guerrilla Marketing could give you just the edge you need in your business plan. If you want to find out more, there are several really good books on the subject, such as those shown below:
